A curator's newsletter that shares carefully chosen soul, funk, jazz, boogie and world music releases, often with personal commentary and links to listen. It offers a slower, human-picked alternative to algorithmic music discovery on social media.
A music newsletter from producer Dubmatix covering reggae, dub, funk and soul through weekly mixes, production insights and artist histories. Recent issues offer deep-cut funk playlists and biographical pieces on drummers such as Clyde Stubblefield and Sly and the Family Stone.
MixedTapes is a music newsletter built around curated playlists, including a monthly New Music playlist of 31 tracks and occasional subscriber-only deep dives into genres and labels. Readers get short, personable notes on music history and scenes, such as Stones Throw's legacy and the origins of Chicano Soul, alongside the playlists.
A weekly radio-show newsletter from Aj of Assorted Tapes, posting numbered episodes of mostly soul, R&B, electronic and downtempo tracklists with song links. Each issue also lists the DJ gear and production tools used, so readers mainly get a playlist rather than written commentary.
