Discursives is a weekly interactive art newsletter in which each issue is a non-linear mind map of associative waypoints linking music, art, history, ideas, film and literature around a single theme. The excerpts show a fixed template with little visible prose, so readers get a themed visual wander rather than written analysis.

An artist-author shares behind-the-scenes accounts of how his paintings, especially the Dinotopia series, were made. Readers get practical detail on preparatory studies, model posing, maquettes and sources of inspiration.
Deeply researched profiles and histories of animators and films from around the world, with a focus on Japanese animation and independent artists. Each issue also includes animation news bits and a closing note.
Personal essays on relationships, thinking, creativity and agency, written from a family life on a Baltic island. Readers get reflective, exploratory writing that works through questions such as why music moves us and how to get unstuck creatively.
