FIELDNOTES is a charitable blog from a Long Island park advocacy group, Quality Parks, covering open space acquisition, park stewardship, tick prevention and local safety issues. Its essays mix personal reflection and local reporting, such as the Plum Island conservation effort and the value of nature centers.
